COLOR

If the color of a diamond appears like a fresh, transparent drop of spring water, this would prescribe its being colorless. The closer a diamond comes to being absolutely colorless, the rarer it is. The color shades of a diamond are very subtle, and can only be determined by an expert eye.

To help you understand which color you are choosing, there is an internationally recognized color-grading scale, and variations of shades are distinguished by letters of the alphabet. In this D, E and F would be considered colorless. Continuing down the alphabet, the color is graded in shades from near colorless through slightly tinted until Z, which has a noticeable yellow tint.
